PETG
Pros:
Beginner-friendly: PETG is one of the easiest materials to work with. It doesn’t require special printing techniques, and most consumer-grade 3D printers can handle it without issues.
Balanced performance: It offers a good mix of strength, flexibility, and ease of use, making it a solid starting point for RC car parts.
Better impact resistance than PLA: PETG is less brittle and more durable under stress, which is useful for components that might experience vibration or minor collisions.
Cons:
Moderate heat resistance: While PETG performs better than PLA in warmer conditions, it can still soften or deform under high heat (typically around 80–90°C). This could be a concern near motors or ESCs that generate significant heat.
Stringing and oozing: PETG tends to produce fine strings during printing, which may require post-processing or fine-tuning of printer settings.
Less rigid than PLA: PETG has more flexibility, which can be a pro or con depending on the part. For structural components that need to stay stiff, this might be a drawback.
